Quake is a first-person shooter game in which the player controls the character named Ranger. In the single-player campaign, the player must go to the portal in order to stop the enemies, code-named Quake.
The gameplay consists of 32 separate levels. The first six maps are available in the multiplayer mode for the battles between the players for deathmatch mayhem.
The campaign mode has four different difficulty levels, which can be changed in the settings menu. The multiplayer mode has four different modes as well, for the battles between the players.
The game is released in 1996 by the creators of the groundbreaking game Doom - iD Software.
